Once in a while I get a wave of wishing. As though the power of wanting something could make a difference. I think about the words, but never say them out loud. At most it’s a whisper into the night wind that’s blowing gusty and warm past the doorway, or a silent prayer to the universe. If only it were that simple. I wish you were here, walking with me and impressing me with that fabulous brain, and I wish that wanting it could make it happen. All of it should happen.
